Sarnia Votes:
October 26

I am running for the position of Sarnia City Councillor.
My platform can be summed up as follows:

“A candid, future‑focused plan for growth, modern infrastructure, expanded housing, new investment, and coordinated action on homelessness — leaving behind the tired practice of draining reserves and the illusion of zero debt, a plan  grounded not only in what we need, but in what it takes to achieve it.”

Some Quick Thoughts about the Councillors' Debate of Oct. 20

Thoughts on the Councillor debate last night:

What stood out to me during the debate was that some incumbent candidates appeared to believe that the way things are today is good enough.

Comments such as “we’re not going to grow fast,” and rationalizations for years of underinvestment in infrastructure because other cities have made similar mistakes, were revealing.

The moderators ran out of time before I could address those remarks, but they should not go unanswered.

This mindset is exactly why Council needs a fresh perspective. If those who accept decline as inevitable remain in office, improvement becomes unlikely. Our residents deserve leaders who challenge complacency, not defend it. Justifying the failures of the past is a poor foundation for building a better future.
